Amish Apple Fritters
One thing for sure, they're pastries were delicious! They had a summer kitchen full of delicious treats for sale. We enjoyed a scrumptious black raspberry fry pie, chocolate chip cookies and we took home a bag full of goodies. One of the things we took home were Amish Apple Fritters. They were so yummy that I had to share the recipe with you! Mom bought me and Geri a cookbook from their shop and let me tell you how delicious the recipes sound! I'll share them as I try them. Amish Apple FrittersIngredients:
- 1 1/2 C. flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2/3 C. milk
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 sour apples
Directions:Beat milk and egg together. Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Add gradually to egg mixture while stirring. Cut apples into rounds. Dip each slice into batter. Put in hot fat (365 degrees) and fry until delicately brown. Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Eat while warm.Here's Geri, Mommy and I in front of one of the gardens.
