I'm Officially a Soccer Mom!
I am officially a soccer mom! I'm so excited! Ace had his second game this Saturday and he almost scored-we were so proud of him! We try not to make him too competitive by reminding him before every game that the two most important things are that he has fun and does his best. Although I could tell after the last game he was kind of bummed. He really hasn't played sports much and didn't really know what was going on, so DH practiced with him a bit this week and he was a little more confident in himself this time. He was all sweaty and full of smiles which makes me so happy to see. Lucky watches him kick the ball around and now thinks everything in the house needs kicked around. :) It's so amazing to watch them learn something new isn't it?
After the game we came home and baked a little something for our family that would be coming to stay the night for the vigil that night. Ace was very excited to play with his cousin Mikey, they used to fight like cats and dogs as babies but now that they're getting older they've been playing together really well (Thank God!).
We had a beautiful Liturgy on Sunday morning to celebrate the Exaltation of the Cross and a relaxing afternoon followed. We've been getting so much rain with all the hurricanes and tropical storms but yesterday it was sunny skies and it only sprinkled for a few minutes-which left us with this:
A picture perfect rainbow! Unfortunately I couldn't capture the whole thing in this picture but it really was a perfect rainbow reaching from one end of the sky to the other. The kids were so amazed and we were reminded of God's promise never to flood the earth again. What a beautiful ending to such a blessed day.
