I just wanted to make everyone aware of a bill that has recently passed through the House. Many of you may have heard of the GIVE/SERVE Act already but for those of you who haven't there are some great links below where you can read all the fine print.
The bill includes language indicating young people will be forced to participate in mandatory national service programs.
It also states that children will have no speech or religious freedoms during this time of "service".
“Participating in, or endorsing, events or activities that are likely to include advocacy for or against political parties, political platforms, political candidates, proposed legislation, or elected officials.”
“Engaging in religious instruction, conducting worship services, providing mandatory religious instruction of worship, constructing or operating facilities devoted to religious instruction or worship, maintaining facilities primarily or inherently devoted to religious instruction or worship, or engaging in any form of religious proselytization (sic).”
What I don't understand is why there is NEVER any media attention on these issues. I'm furious...I'm scared...should stop blogging and start praying...Kyrie Eleison...
