Travel Activity

We're going to visit my brother-in-law in North Carolina this weekend and I've been trying to gather up some different things to keep the boys occupied during our 10-12 hour car ride.

I made one of these for my nephew when they were moving and he loved it so I made one for Ace for our trip. It's a lot of fun and keeps the child's mind focused on finding the different things and helps me avoid being asked the same question a gazillion times. Are we there yet?

He's pretty excited about it, which makes me very happy!

All you need is:

a small dry erase board
cardstock
printer
magnetic tape or magnets
ziploc bag
scissors
double sided tape or stapler

I printed these pictures out from Wondertime, cut them out and stuck a piece of magnetic tape to the back.

Then I printed out a map from mapquest and highlighted our route. Ace will be looking for different landmarks, road signs and vehicles along the way. When he finds them he'll stick it to the magnetic dry erase board.

I taped a piece of road map scrapbook paper to the back and stapled a small ziploc freezer bag to it to keep the pieces and a couple of dry erase markers in. So he can play the game or draw a little along the way.

Now off to pack the rest of his travel box...
