Back to Normal...

My grandparents and godson came up for the weekend. Ace had a soccer game on Saturday and afterwards we spent a lovely afternoon at the teahouse. It was a little chilly in the morning but my mid-afternoon it really warmed up and I was forced to ditch the jean jacket I was wearing that I scored for only $7 from Kohl's the day before (we're talking major sale btw). We sat on the teahouse porch and enjoyed crisp chicken salad sandwiches on croissants, hot miniature butter biscuits, freshly brewed iced tea and a beautiful breeze.

I think my grandfather just noticed I ate the rest of his biscuits, lol...

My mother left yesterday to go back home to Ohio, which by now you know how much I hate. It's so nice having someone to have coffee with in the morning and to help with the kids! Those of you who have helpful mothers nearby--send them flowers and chocolates!! Or call and thank them, it'll be appreciated all the same. I never realized how much I needed her nearby until she moved.

This morning I poured 8 cups of water in the coffee pot versus my normal 4 and it wasn't until I wondered why it was taking so long to brew that I realized what I did. That's the worst part of our goodbyes--getting used to being alone again during the day.

I am, however, thankful for the time we get to spend when she visits and therefore will stop complaining... :)
