Bento Box Lunches
Ever since Ace started preschool he hasn't been able to have his muffin tin Monday lunches. So I ordered some bento boxes and accessories from Ichiban Kan.
They're so much fun to make and I love them for the same reason I love muffin tin lunches--they get small portions of a variety of foods and they have fun eating their lunch!
Here's the one we made today. It's a little boring compared to these but Ace loves them and I love the fact that his lunchbox comes home empty every day! They will eventually look like a work of art but for now this is good enough. :)
There are little birds made with rice molds and ketchup eyes, string cheese and crackers in the top compartment...
And the bottom compartment had strawberry and bananas on colorful animal skewers topped with sprinkles on one side and cherry tomatoes with a pick that makes them look like balloons.
The little plastic divider is from Ichiban Kan too. You get a pack of of 16 for $1.50! They're anti-bacterial and can be washed and re-used too.
Under the lid there is a spot for a fork and spoon too. After I pack it all up it fits perfectly inside his lunchbox with a juice box or bottle of water. I really want some of these bottles but they're a little pricey so I've been keeping an eye out for some on sale.
I wish I ate lunch out of the house just so I could order the adult version for me! Any ideas for different things I could do in our bento boxes?
