Fun Summer Activities

Summer is officially here and I couldn't be happier! I am so excited to have my baby home with me for one last summer before entering the real world (aka Kindergarten). :)

This morning after brushing my teeth I found this little guy hiding under my hand towel. I let out a little scream before I realized he was plastic, at which point I busted out laughing. He's hoooome!

Then I noticed two little boys around the corner squealing with laughter and rolling around the floor.

Next week we'll be heading to Ohio to visit my family and hometown. I can't wait! My sister is expecting her first baby and we're throwing her a baby shower while I'm there. Once we return we'll be taking advantage of all the local (a.k.a. free) programs and events.

Here are a few things we'll be doing this summer:

Kids Bowl Free
offers 2 free games of bowling per child at participating lanes.

Make Homemade Ice Cream in a Bag.

Pack our picnic basket and head to the park.

Attend the SUPER WHY! event at our local Toys "R" Us on June 13.

Not sure what's going on in your neighborhood? Use Amy's Find an Activity tool over at MomAdvice!

I love this scavenger hunt for pre-readers from wee life. Download the urban, beach, city or park hunts. You can also make your own by taking pictures of things around your neighborhood!

Here's a great list of products, from Tara at Feels like Home, to keep your kids busy this summer!
