Lenten Yummies
I hope everyone is having a fruitful Apostles fast so far! We've been enjoying these scrumptious lenten pancakes every morning!
Here's the recipe:
- 1 1/4 cup flour
- 1 T sugar
- 1 T baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/4 cup Vanilla or Egg Nog flavored Soy milk
Directions:
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl and then cook on a greased or non-stick skillet!
It's very simple and they're the best lenten tpancakes I've tried! I got the recipe from Presbytera Georgia and I think she got it from here.
I've also been drinking this delicious Monastery Coffee Blend, made by the brotherhood of The All-Merciful Saviour in Washington. I'm a little picky about my coffee because many brands have so much caffeine that I get heart palputations and anxiety, so I have to drink it pretty weak. This blend is really good though and I can have it actually taste like coffee without the sideaffects.
Several years back the Vashon monks were sued by Starbucks for naming one of their blends the Christmas Blend, a name that Starbucks had trademarked. However, Starbucks lost the and so they both continue to produce their Christmas Blend coffees.

They have other fun blends too such as Abbot's Choice, The Promised Blend, Deacon's Decaf and more. They even have an organic blend. Check out their site here.
