1984 Memory Lane

Ace has school pictures coming up this week and when I was filling out his order form this afternoon he asked if I took school pictures when I was his age. So I pulled out my memory book {my mom rocks} full of photos, report cards, stories and more. We had a good laugh looking at all the old hairdo's, accessories and notes.

And here is my Kindergarten class:

Here's the "Kindergarten" page of my school memory book:

While I don't remember too many things about that year, I do remember a few. I remember lying to the teacher and telling her I was allergic to chocolate milk because I hated it. I remember not being able to reach the spot my crayons were supposed to go in and Michael Kantaras (last row, 2nd photo) helped me put them away. I remember the teacher asking me to say my ABC's and I started singing them and she yelled at me saying, "I told you to say them not sing them." I remember puking on myself and having to change clothes in the janitor's room which stunk like the sawdust that he used to cover my vomit. I remember coming home and crying because I had to sit next to a boy (Stelio Frangopoulos--top row, 2nd photo)I remember thinking there was nothing more fun than being in Kindergarten.

Take a trip down memory lane with me...it was September of 1984 and I was on my way to Kindergarten...where were you?
