To the Trees!
Don't mind my cheesy post title today, somehow that line from Robin Hood popped into my mind and it made me giggle so...hope you giggled too.
We are all packed up and ready to head out to the woods this afternoon. We're all so excited! The boys have been packing up flashlights, magnifying glasses, bug boxes and anything else that will fit into their backpacks. The items in the photo are from our first supply run. I was so excited to find a pink sleeping bag! It's a youth size but I'm only 5'1" so it should be just fine. I have to admit I love seeing my pink bag amidst the different shades of blue and camo.
I like to be prepared so I have a tendency to over pack but DH is the complete opposite and I've been noticing things that I know were packed back in their places in the house. Hmmm...wonder how that's happening? Well, he can't blame me if we really end up needing Clorox wipes or Lysol spray... ;)
I am also looking forward to roasting marshmallows and knitting s'mores. Yes, I said knitting s'mores. Socks in particular and a special gift for the person who entered the best camping tip in my giveaway (to be announced on Monday).
I'll be using this amazing yarn, appropriately named S'mores. It was part of the Memories collection from Knit Picks, who btw has the best yarn at very low prices. I've had it for a couple of years now. How could I resist with a name like that?
I knit one sock from it and never finished the other one, 2nd sock syndrome you know? So I will be casting on (and hopefully off) on our wonderful camping trip this weekend.
I can't wait not to have internet access or cell phone signals! I am bringing my journal and my knitting needles to occupy my spare time. I have not been able to do those things for awhile because I've been so busy but now that my book is off to the printer and I have some free time, I am really looking forward to indulging in some of my favorite hobbies again.
