Preparing for the Dormition Fast
The Dormition fast begins tomorrow and like every fasting period, I look forward to slowing down and shifting the focus of our home back to where it should be. I look forward to the daily Paraklesis services. I look forward to the quietness that I so desperately need to feel in my soul. I look forward to taking a break here in my tiny little corner of the internet and reconnecting with other Orthodox moms like you. I'm looking forward...This afternoon, I put binders together for the boys with coloring pages and activities from the life of the Theotokos. I am going to scan and post some of them this week for those of you who would like to use them with your children.I've taken a step back these last few months to fully enjoy my pregnancy and my family. And I truly have. Time passes so quickly and I do not want to miss a single moment with them. My absence has left quite a bit for me to catch all of you up on though! We celebrated his 40 days in May and are now making plans for his baptism and just came back from another incredible trip up north to visit my family, where I had the honor of being koumbara in my brother's wedding. So, there's lots for us to talk about now that I'm back!p.s. For those of you who would like to learn more about the life of the Theotokos, check out {15 Days for Panagia}, the series I posted during the fast last year, here.
