Happy New {Ecclesiastical} Year!

Today marks the start of a new Ecclesiastical year!

If you receive my Facebook updates, you might have read last night about our tradition of leaving an icon outside of your front door the night before the new Church year.
My great-grandmother used to do this to ask God to bless our home in the upcoming new year. Of course, this is more of a yiayia tradition that a church tradition but it is a tradition I enjoy continuing.

This year, the boys chose a little icon of Panagia Prousiotissa to put out.  Ace put it out before going to bed.  Lucky was already asleep, so he made sure he got the job of bringing it back in this morning.
