Saint Mommy

The other day, after Lucky and I finished reading the Akathist to St. Panteleimon, he wanted to talk about some of the things he heard during the service, like, "For after thy prayer to Christ a child who had died from snakebite at once revived and stood up healed" and so on. After a few minutes of discussing this he asked me,

"Do you have a saint?""Of course!""Oh, your saint is St. Mommy, right?""No, my saint is St. Sevastiane," I answered with a giggle."Well, your saint is Panagia too, right? Because she's a mommy and you're a mommy, so..."."Yes, absolutely."

I was caught off guard by his observation and once again found myself marveling at the innocence, and therefore spiritual insight, of a child. And then I spent the afternoon thinking about how lucky we mothers are to have two patron saints interceding for us.
