40 Bags in 40 Days + Spring Cleaning Checklist

I read a quote the other day that said, "The less you own, the less that owns you."  It was perfect timing because I'd been thinking about doing a 40 Bags in 40 Days Challenge for awhile now.  {Being Orthodox, anything in 40-day segments appeals to me!}Below are two printouts.  The first contains suggestions for your 40 bags.  Print the list out and highlight the areas you need to thin out.  You can start this before your Spring Cleaning or you can bring your bags along to each area and fill them up as you do your spring clean!  It's also good to keep one bag for garbage and another for things you can donate to your local shelter.Screen Shot 2016-03-16 at 5.19.09 PMSince Spring Cleaning is right around the corner, I thought this I'd include this 31 Day Cleaning Routine as well.  Keeping a tidy house is something we work on as a family every day but spring cleaning is when we really get to the bones of things like, wiping down the tops and insides of all the cabinets, taking screens off the windows to scrub down, etc.  I love giving the house a good thorough cleaning!  But it can sometimes feel  overwhelming trying to figure out where to start in between our homeschool schedule, extracurricular activities and typical day-to-day tasks!Use this list as a general guide and adapt it to fit your specific needs.  I used this list last year for the first time and it really came in handy!  Each day the boys and I worked together to get each task completed and then we checked off our jobs as we completed them, which was a nice visible sign of encouragement to all of us! It was also just enough each day that the boys didn't complain about it too much.  After the first few days, it was more of a, "Let's get this done quick because then we'll be done for the whole day" kind of thing.30-day-challengeWhat Spring Cleaning tips do you have?  What are some of your favorite safe cleaning products?
