Wiped Out?
Make your own wipes then! This is a recipe that I found in an old Amish cookbook awhile back and has been such a money saver for us! Having two little ones, I'm constantly using wipes. Not just for the obvious but for wiping sticky hands and faces or dirty toys, etc. With the cost of wipes averaging $5.00 a box here, I make my own for much less.
Here's what you'll need:
- a container ( I use the 4 quarts ice cream buckets)
- 2 C. boiling water
- 3 T. baby bath
- 1 T. baby oil
- 2 T. baby lotion
- 1 roll paper towels
Cut roll of paper towels in half. Remove cardboard center. Place upright in an airtight container and pour above solution over it. Cover it tightly and it's ready to use in 1 hr. The wipes can be pulled out from the center.
*I usually make 2 buckets of them to use the whole roll of paper towels. If you decide to do this make sure you double the recipe and have 2 buckets.
I love these wipes because they really clean them well; I don't have to use 2 or 3 at a time. They always have that fresh from the tub feel and smell too.
Anyone else have any good household product recipes? I also have a good one for homemade windex and spot remover if anyone is interested...
